This blog is designed as a space for processing assignments and thoughts for an online course: Instructional Design Essentials, May 2015. I am using this space to learn more about the instructional design process and how to improve my class design and teaching.
I am a
Reference and Instruction Librarian at Normandale
Community College in Bloomington, MN, just outside of Minneapolis. For
this class, I’ve decided to focus on an Information Literacy,
credit-bearing
class (INFS 1000) that my colleagues and I are designing. This would be
the first credit-bearing class offered by the library. I want to use
this IDE class to help me design a better credit bearing class.
And, I hope that by thinking about instructional design on a bigger
scale I can also improve my current teaching practice (primarily
one-shot classes).
